How many pet families are in WoW Forever?
18 beast families, including the new Fox. Owls are now called Bird of Prey.
When do Hunters get a pet?
At level 10. The Hunter trainer starts a short quest chain that sends you to tame three beasts and teaches Tame Beast, Beast Training, Feed Pet and Revive Pet.
What is the best pet for leveling?
Bear or Boar for safety, Cat for speed. Bear's Swipe hits three targets, which makes multi-mob pulls much safer.
What do Hunter pets eat?
It depends on the family. Wolves, Raptors, Spiders and Foxes only eat meat, Bears and Boars eat almost everything, and Gorillas and Bats eat fungus and fruit. See the food table on this page.
Can I tame a pet above my level?
No. In Forever you can only tame beasts at your level or lower, so you'll swap pets a few times while leveling.
