Quest in the zone that matches your level, run a dungeon whenever you reach its range and rest at campfires. Blizzard kept the Classic XP curve, so there are no big shortcuts. Picking a fast class helps most.

Yes in the 1–30 range, where each faction has its own zones. From level 30 both factions share most zones, including the new Riverglades.
Where do I find dungeons for my level?
Use the Dungeon Finder, enter your level and see which dungeons you can run now and which are coming up.
