WoW Forever Leveling Tier List

Which class levels fastest in World of Warcraft: Forever? Every class ranked by how quickly and safely its best leveling spec gets through levels 1–30, with the reasons and trade-offs.

Updated October 9, 2026 · WoW Forever beta (level 1–30)

SFastest and most forgiving

Beast Mastery Hunter

Every leveling list puts Hunter at or near the top: the pet tanks while you shoot, so downtime and deaths stay low. In Forever you tame your first pet at level 10, and the new Summon Hawk adds extra companions.

  • Pet holds aggro while you attack from range
  • Very low downtime and few corpse runs
  • Most forgiving class for new players
  • Weak before Tame Beast unlocks at level 10
  • Cannot tame beasts above your level anymore

Frost Mage

Frost Mage pairs high kill speed with excellent control and conjured food and water. Most lists rank it S, though some drop it to A because open-world AoE grinding is less dominant in Forever.

  • Strong AoE pulls with Frost Nova and Blizzard
  • Free food and water cut resting costs
  • Blink, Polymorph and slows rescue bad pulls
  • Cloth and no pet make mistakes deadly
  • Mana breaks between pulls slow the pace

AStrong and reliable

Affliction Warlock

Affliction Warlock moves from mob to mob with DoTs while the Voidwalker tanks, and Life Tap plus Drain Life keep resting to a minimum. Rankings range from A to S, held back mainly by a slower start before the Voidwalker arrives at level 10.

  • Voidwalker tanks while DoTs tick
  • Life Tap and Drain Life minimize resting
  • Fear and Healthstones recover bad pulls
  • Slow until the Voidwalker unlocks at level 10
  • Slightly lower burst kill speed than Mage

Retribution Paladin

Paladin received the biggest Forever rework: Judgement no longer consumes your Seal, and the new Holy Strike adds an early button. Beta-focused lists rate it A to S, while lists based on Vanilla experience still put it near the bottom.

  • Plate armor and self-heals make leveling very safe
  • Judgement no longer eats your Seal
  • New Holy Strike adds damage from level 6
  • Kills slower than Hunter when chain-pulling
  • Divine Shield now halves your damage instead

Enhancement Shaman

Enhancement Shaman pairs solid melee with self-heals and shocks, and Forever adds talents like Maelstrom Weapon and a shorter Stormstrike cooldown. Most beta lists rate it A, a few put it in B.

  • Self-heals and shocks give strong sustain
  • Stormstrike cooldown cut and Maelstrom Weapon added
  • Can heal or deal damage in dungeons
  • Less immediately powerful than Paladin or Hunter
  • Totem stacking was largely removed in beta

BGood, with trade-offs

Combat Rogue

Rogue has good single-target damage and stealth for skipping fights, but no self-healing and a heavy reliance on weapon quality. Forever lets combo points carry across targets, but sources agree Rogue got fewer leveling buffs than other classes.

  • Stealth skips unnecessary fights
  • Combo points now carry over between targets
  • Vanish, Evasion and Gouge provide escapes
  • No self-healing, so more eating and resting
  • Damage depends heavily on weapon quality

Shadow Priest

Shadow Priest is a safe, steady leveler thanks to Power Word: Shield, DoTs and wand damage, but its solo kill speed lags the top classes. Its healing role makes it easy to find dungeon groups.

  • Power Word: Shield keeps fights very safe
  • Easy to find dungeon groups as a healer
  • Spirit Tap and wand reduce downtime
  • Slow early kill speed until Shadow talents arrive

CSlower early, stronger later

Feral Druid

Druid has the most disputed ranking: some beta testers call its first levels slow and awkward, while others say Feral got stronger in Forever thanks to weapon-scaling forms and continuous energy regen. Expect it to improve as forms unlock and with each beta patch.

  • Can tank, heal or deal damage
  • Forms now scale with weapon damage
  • Wrath base damage buffed about 50% in beta
  • Clunky and weak before Cat Form
  • Juggling forms and mana slows early levels

Feral leveling build →Druid guide

Protection Warrior

Every leveling list ranks Warrior as the slowest, most gear-dependent early leveler, since it has no self-heals. Forever helps more than usual: baseline Victory Rush and a stronger Protection tree make shield leveling viable from level 16.

  • Victory Rush is baseline for in-combat healing
  • Protection rage generation and damage buffed
  • Can tank dungeons for fast groups
  • No self-heals; heavy food and bandage use
  • Very gear-dependent and slow before level 16

How this tier list is made

There is no public leveling data for WoW Forever yet, so this list is a consensus of the leveling tier lists and guides published during the beta, weighed against recent class changes. Each class is ranked by its best leveling spec. Where sources disagree, we favour the ones that tested the current 1–30 beta.

Leveling tier list FAQ

What is the best leveling class in WoW Forever?

Beast Mastery Hunter and Frost Mage are the fastest and safest classes to level in the WoW Forever beta. Every leveling list puts Hunter at or near the top: the pet tanks while you shoot, so downtime and deaths stay low. In Forever you tame your first pet at level 10, and the new Summon Hawk adds extra companions.

What is the easiest class to level in WoW Forever for new players?

Beast Mastery Hunter. The pet takes the hits while you attack from range, so you rarely die and spend very little time eating or drinking between fights.

What is the slowest class to level in WoW Forever?

Feral Druid and Protection Warrior start slower in the 1–30 beta range. Both get much stronger later, so they are still good picks if you enjoy them.

Will this tier list change at launch?

Probably. It reflects the beta with a level 30 cap and recent class tuning. We update it as Blizzard changes classes and when the level cap is raised.
