Pick your race and spec: we show which dungeons to run at each level range, which boss drops to chase and how the professions help. Built from the beta loot tables.
Updated October 12, 2026 · WoW Forever beta, levels 13–30
A leveling Warlock lives on three stats. Spell damage kills the mob while your DoTs tick, Stamina pays for Life Tap and keeps you alive between pulls, and Spirit matters more than usual because Life Tap scales with it in Forever.
That makes dungeon gear unusually strong for you. Boss drops carry more spell damage than anything a quest hands out at the same level, and the bosses below are short enough to clear in a couple of runs.
Warlocks use staves, daggers and one-hand swords, so maces, axes and polearms are left out. Check the weapon in game before you commit, because proficiencies can still change before launch.

Your spec
Undead Warlock · Horde
Horde. You start in Tirisfal Glades, right next to Ruins of Lordaeron, and Shadowfang Keep is in neighboring Silverpine. Cannibalize and Touch of the Grave cover your sustain between pulls, so you rest less.
Affliction Warlock
DoT-heavy and mana-hungry: spell damage first, then Spirit for Life Tap.
Your biggest early jump is a staff: Emberstone Staff from Captain Greenskin in the Deadmines. Wailing Caverns adds a robe, and Ruins of Lordaeron adds a belt and legs. Gear for Stamina and spell damage while your demon tanks.

Odo's Ley Staff from Shadowfang Keep is the next staff, and Ghamoo-ra in Blackfathom Deeps drops the best belt. Wailing Caverns still gives gloves and a ring, and Rath'mael in Ruins of Lordaeron drops boots.

Life Tap scales with Spirit in Forever, so Tailoring's Faction Banner is a direct bonus. Alchemy's stronger flasks are a good second profession for raiding.
Cloth Scavenging: tailors find extra cloth on humanoid enemies. They can also add Back Embroidery to cloaks for an extra effect.
Camp: Faction Banner. Increases Spirit for everyone at the camp.
Enchanters can enchant their own rings, transmute shards, and craft staves and off-hand items.
Camp: Enchanted Lute. Increases armor, stats and resistances for everyone at the camp.

Rod of the Sleepwalker from Twilight Lord Kelris in Blackfathom Deeps (32 spell damage and 11 Spirit) is the best staff in the level 13–30 loot we have measured. Hydrocane from Gnomeregan has slightly more spell damage but no Spirit. Before level 24, use Emberstone Staff from the Deadmines, then Odo's Ley Staff from Shadowfang Keep.
Ragefire Chasm and Hall of Thanes first, then Wailing Caverns and Shadowfang Keep around level 18–22, then Blackfathom Deeps, Razorfen Kraul and Gnomeregan. The page lists exactly which boss drops each upgrade for every level range.
Both. Life Tap trades health for mana and scales with Spirit in Forever, so Spirit makes each tap return more mana, while Stamina gives you the health to afford it. Spell damage still comes first for killing speed.
No, the gear is the same. Race changes your starting zone, which dungeons are closest, and your racial bonuses, which the race section on this page covers.
It is built from the current beta loot tables, which cap at level 30. Drop rates and stats can change before launch on November 4, and we will extend the list once the higher levels are playable.
